Po tym wszystkim już nigdy nie będziesz sobą
Joanna Ambroz is a painter, researcher, and book designer whose work delves into taboo subjects, relationships, and personal discomforts. She emphasizes simplicity and metaphor to express profound ideas. Her artistic process is deeply rooted in self-reflection, using visual and conceptual exploration to challenge inhibiting and destructive behaviors.
The starting point was a fire extinguisher—a useful object in case of danger, a testament to civilization, yet an unwanted object: constantly catching the eye, disrupting the aesthetics of space, reminding us of something threatening—while simultaneously evoking a sense of safety, as it holds the promise of protection against fire. An extreme object. The person you always call to vent, serving only that function. When looking at them, we forget they are under pressure. If damaged, they can cause devastation.
